A Foreword From Winston on

The Roger Elvick Sessions

Many people who are new to Commercial Redemption perhaps do not know the name Roger Elvick.  For us ‘old timers’, the name is very well known.  Roger was one of the early contributors to the technology and subject matter that has been developed.  To the ‘old timers’ Roger is somewhat of a legend, although Roger is a very humble man who shuns such notoriety.

Roger is one of a breed of men who we only stumble over on rare occasions.  He has had many life experiences, and one of his favorite experiences is farming.  Farmers are an interesting lot.  Perhaps one of the key elements that set farmers apart is their connection to the earth and Nature.  To take on farming, one must challenge Nature and the elements, many times to the very extreme.  But there is reality in this endeavor … either you make a crop or you don’t.  There is not any fiction in farming.  So being naturally grounded in the soil, perhaps Roger, the farmer, understands more fully the difference between fact and fiction.

We were most pleased when Roger accepted our invitation to come and speak at our seminar in Los Angeles last fall.  These transcripts contain his accounts and analysis of some very interesting situations from a perspective that many of us never encounter.  He gives us some history going back to experiences of his grandfather and father in banking prior to the New Deal.  He also explains his enlistment in the US Marine Corps and some very interesting things that resulted from that enlistment.  His analysis of the Orange County, California, bankruptcy certainly demonstrates some causes that did not make the news.

In many of his comments and discussions, Roger gets right down to the basis of commerce and the creation of money.  His analysis of blocked funds, municipal bonds, and the activity of the county attorneys is very fundamental to understanding how things begin.  Roger points out that apparently, this is the same technique used by Hitler as he funded the Wehrmacht.  [and from information given to me, it is the same technique which brought down the Iron Curtain and toppled the Berlin Wall]   Roger appears to view the world of commerce from the most basic elements.

I have heard comments over the years that Roger’s manner of explanation is a bit difficult to understand.  He does use unfamiliar metaphors and puns.  He does use comparisons in a way that most us (non farmers) may not be familiar with.  And yes, he goes metaphysical at times.  But rather than say that Roger is hard to understand, perhaps a better way to put it would be:  “I” have a hard time understanding “Roger”.  Perhaps those of us with ‘advanced’ knowledge, college degrees, and the like might want to spend a little time digging around in the dirt.  I have to say:  this isn’t rocket science.  It is just plain old down to earth reasoning.

So, I recommend you sit down, relax, clear your mind and enjoy.  This kind of experience doesn’t come along too often in life.
